Maheesh Theekshana Stunning Catch: Sri Lanka faced Bangladesh (Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh) in the 15th match of the T20 World Cup (T20 World Cup 2024). In the thrilling match between the two teams, Bangladesh registered a spectacular victory by 2 wickets. Bangladesh may have won the match, but Sri Lankan star player Maheesh Theekshana surprised everyone by catching an incredible catch at a crucial juncture of the match. In fact, in the 17th over of the match, Maheesh Theekshana caught a stunning catch of Bangladesh's legendary all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. Mahish Teekshana took this brilliant catch in the 17th over of the Bangladesh innings. Mathisha Pathirana was bowling this over for Sri Lanka. On the second ball of the over, Shakib tried to hit a big shot on third man, however he was unsuccessful and the ball went in the air. When Shakib played this shot, at one point it seemed that the ball would fall on the ground before Mahish Teekshana, standing at third man, could reach it. However, this did not happen and Teekshana kept an eye on the ball till the end and at the last moment, he took a brilliant catch by diving forward and taking the ball in his possession.

Theekshana stunned everyone present in the stadium with his catch. By dismissing Shakib Al Hasan in this manner, the Sri Lankan team got a chance to make a comeback. Sri Lanka sent Shakib Al Hasan to the pavilion for just 8 runs in the match.

After Shakib's wicket, it seemed that the Sri Lankan team could make a comeback in the match. However, this did not happen and Bangladesh's experienced player Mahmudullah remained on the field till the end and gave Bangladesh a thrilling victory by 2 wickets.

Talking about the match, Sri Lankan team batted first and scored 124/9 runs in 20 overs. In response, Bangladesh achieved this target by scoring 125/8 runs in 19 overs. For Bangladesh, Tauhid Hridoy played a stormy innings of 40 runs with the help of 1 four and 4 sixes in 20 balls.
