Bhaum Pradosh Vrat 2024: In Hinduism, Pradosh Vrat, which comes in the month of Jyeshtha, is considered a festival of special worship of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. This fast is considered auspicious and by doing special worship of God on this day, all the wishes of the devotees are fulfilled and happiness and prosperity remains in the house. Pradosh Vrat is observed on Trayodashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha every month. According to the Panchang, the first Pradosh of Jyeshtha month will be observed on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. Due to this fast falling on Tuesday, it is called Bhaum Pradosh Vrat. On this day, worship of Bajrangbali along with Lord Shiva has great importance.

According to the Panchang, the Trayodashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Jyeshtha month will start on Tuesday, June 4 at 12:18 am and will last till 10:01 pm. On the day of Bhaum Pradosh Vrat, Hanumanji is worshipped along with Lord Shiva. On this day, the auspicious time for worship is being created for about two hours from 7:16 pm to 9:18 pm.

Chant these 5 mantras

  1. Om Namah Shivaya: This Mahamantra is the basic mantra of Lord Shiva. Chanting this mantra 108 times on the day of Pradosh Vrat fulfils all wishes.
  2. Om Gaurishankarardhanathri Namah: This mantra is the mantra for worshiping both Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. Chanting this mantra makes married life happy and increases love and prosperity in married life.
  3. Om Tryambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam Navahantu: This mantra is the mantra of the Trimbakeshwar form of Lord Shiva. Recitation of this mantra brings health and increases wealth.
  4. Om Namah Shivaya Gurudevaya Namah: This mantra is dedicated to Lord Shiva as the Guru. Recitation of this mantra brings knowledge and learning.
  5. Om Shivlingaya Namah: This mantra is the mantra of Lord Shiva's Shivlinga form. Chanting this mantra leads to salvation.

Chant the mantras like this

  • On the day of Pradosh fast, wake up before sunrise, take bath and wear clean clothes.
  • Clean the place of worship and install the idol or picture of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.
  • Light the lamp and burn incense.
  • Offer flowers, fruits, sweets and water to Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.
  • On the day of Pradosh fast, chant these five mantras 108 times.
  • After this, recite Shiv Chalisa or Pradosh Vrat Katha.
  • In the end, perform the aarti of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.

Pay special attention to these things

  • Salt, garlic, onion and non-vegetarian food should not be consumed on the day of Pradosh fast.
  • Alcohol and drugs should also not be consumed on this day.
  • Observe celibacy on the day of the fast and keep meditating on Lord Shiva throughout the day.

This belief of Pradosh fast

There is a religious belief that on this day, Bholenath is pleased with the worship and fasting of Lord Shiva and fulfills all the wishes of his devotees. This fast increases wealth, happiness and good fortune. Although Lord Shiva and Parvati are worshipped on this day, but Bhaum Pradosh Vrat is also dedicated to Sankat Mochan Hanuman. Therefore, it is said that fasting and worship on this day helps in getting rid of debt. All money related problems are also solved and there is happiness, peace and prosperity in the house. Apart from this, happiness also remains in the family.
