This study has been published by the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) US. According to which high sodium makes us a patient of chronic skin disease. The World Health Organization has also said that we should intake only two grams of sodium in a day.

According to the study, if our daily sodium intake increases, it causes dryness and spots on the skin. Apart from this, the problem of constant itching also persists. Earlier studies had found that the sodium present in our skin is related to autoimmune and chronic inflammatory conditions, of which eczema is also one. Researchers found that people eat fast food which contains more salt and due to this the level of sodium in the skin can increase. The new study says that if the intake of one gram of sodium increases daily, then the risk of eczema in our skin increases by 22 percent.

According to the report, a single food available in McDonald's or other food companies contains about half a teaspoon of salt and this increases the intake of sodium by one gram in our body. This study was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association Dermatology. This research was done on about 2 lakh people aged between 30 and 70 years. Urine samples of all of them were taken and tested. Researchers found that people who took more sodium than the daily intake for a long time were at a higher risk of skin problem eczema.
