T20 World Cup 2024: 'IPL form is rubbish...', Glenn Maxwell got the support of a veteran; Shocking statement came out

Glenn Maxwell Form: Only a few days are left for the upcoming T20 World Cup to be held in West Indies and America. All the teams are preparing hard for the World Cup. However, amid these preparations, the Australian team (Australian Cricket Team) is worried about the poor form of star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell. Glenn Maxwell was seen playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League before the T20 World Cup. Throughout the IPL season, he disappointed the fans with his performance with both bat and ball. Despite Maxwell's poor form, Australian Test team opener Usman Khawaja has expressed confidence in him. Usman Khawaja said that IPL form is rubbish.

IPL form is nonsense - Khawaja

In an interview given to West Australian, Usman Khawaja, while talking about Glenn Maxwell, said that 'IPL form does not matter. Maxwell has proved himself time and again. Any player who has performed well for a long time can understand that you cannot perform well on the field every time.' Glenn Maxwell played 10 matches for RCB in IPL 2024. In these matches, only 52 runs came from his bat. At the same time, he managed to take 6 wickets with the ball.

Usman Khawaja further said about Maxwell that 'You take some risks especially if you bat in the middle order. T20 cricket is not easy but if Maxwell plays a good innings in the World Cup, he will leave the old things behind and move forward. It does not matter what has happened before. He is not going to change his game nor should he do so. He should keep moving forward and he will regain his form.'

Australia is to start its journey in the T20 World Cup on June 5. The team has to face Oman in Barbados in the first match. After this, Australia's big match will be against defending champion England on June 8. The Australian team and fans want Glenn Maxwell to return to form as soon as possible and play an important role in the team's victory.
