New coach will be appointed in the Indian team! BCCI made a big announcement before the T20 World Cup

New Coach For Indian Team: Before the start of T20 World Cup 2024, BCCI Secretary Jai Shah has made a big announcement. He has said that BCCI will issue an advertisement for the appointment of a coach in the Indian team. Rahul Dravid's tenure is only till the T20 World Cup and that is why BCCI has decided to advertise for the appointment of a fresh coach. Jay Shah has also said that current coach Rahul Dravid can apply again if he wants.

Rahul Dravid was appointed the head coach of the Indian team after Ravi Shastri. Under his coaching, Team India won the Asia Cup and made it to the 2023 World Cup final. However, Rahul Dravid's tenure was only till the World Cup 2023. But BCCI offered him to remain the coach of the team and asked him to extend his contract, which he accepted. BCCI did not want any change in coaching till T20 World Cup 2024. BCCI wanted to retain Rahul Dravid as the coach so that there is no change in the setup he has created during the last two years. This could have been affected after the arrival of the new coach.

Rahul Dravid can apply again - Jay Shah

However, after the T20 World Cup 2024, Rahul Dravid's tenure will end and then a fresh appointment will have to be made. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said about this, Rahul Dravid's tenure is only till June. In such a situation, if they want to apply again, they can do so.

Foreign coach can also be appointed

Jay Shah also said that after the appointment of the new head coach, batting, bowling and fielding coaches will be appointed on his advice. Apart from this, he also did not rule out the possibility of a foreign coach. Jai Shah said, we cannot say yet whether the new coach will be an Indian or a foreigner. It all depends on the Cricket Advisory Committee.

Let us tell you that Jay Shah has also denied that different coaches will be appointed for different formats.
