Another film on cricket is coming. The name is Mr. and Mrs. Mahi. The trailer of this film starring Rajkumar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor was released on Sunday. This film is not a biopic of any cricketer. Nor does it have anything to do with former Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhani alias Mahi. The story is of two people who like cricket, love cricket. But when the dream of one is not fulfilled then the other uses the first to fulfill his dream. Looking at the trailer, this seems to be the case at the moment.
Mr. and Mrs. Mahi is the story of Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor. Both have the same horoscope and the same name – Mahi. Both of them get married. Janhvi Kapoor is a doctor and Rajkumar Rao is trying to become a cricketer. After marriage, it is revealed that Jhanvi also likes cricket very much. She also plays well. For Rajkumar Rao, cricket is life and life is cricket.
Rajkumar Rao tries everything possible, but he is not getting selected. He asks his father Kumud Mishra for one more year, but he breaks his bat. When his dream is shattered, he decides to make Janhvi a cricketer. There is a dialogue of Janhvi in the trailer, in which she says, “You ever wanted to make me a cricketer or use me as a ladder.” It seems that Rajkumar Rao is making Janhvi a cricketer for himself. However, what is there in the film and why? This will be known only after the release of the film.
Watching the trailer, it becomes clear that the story attacks the idea that parents put the burden of their dreams on their children. What children want to become is more important than what you want them to become. Janhvi is a doctor in the film but she likes cricket. Sharan Sharma has directed this film and Karan Johar has produced the film in association with Zee Studios and Hero Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta. The film is releasing on 31 May.
