This is how you can worship Vat Savitri
For the worship of Vat Savitri, keep saptdhan in two bamboo baskets. In the first basket, place an idol of Brahma Ji and in the second basket, place a picture of Savitri Satyavan. In the worship, offer water, raw milk at the root of the Banyan tree, apply a rice flour paste. Offer worship material today with roli, sindoor, akshat, paan, betel nut, flowers, fruits and batasha. Why should we worship the Banyan tree?
Vat Savitri Vrat is considered very special. Bhaat means Banyan tree which is a symbol of Amrit and Savitri means the Goddess who brought back the life of her husband Satyavan from the jaws of death. This is a wonderful example of Pativrata. The branches of the tree which hang downwards are called Maa Savitri. This is the reason why Banyan tree should be worshipped on Vat Savitri Vrat with the wish of long life of the husband.
