The fighting in Rafah has forced more than 1 million Palestinians to flee, most of whom were already displaced during the war. More than 36,000 Palestinians have been killed in the Israel-Hamas war, according to the Health Ministry. Israel launched the offensive after Hamas' October 7 attack on Gaza. Hamas attacked southern Israel, killing about 1,200 people and kidnapping about 250 people. Israel says there are still about 100 hostages in Gaza, as well as the bodies of about 30 more people.

16 Houthi rebels killed

On the other hand, Houthi rebels claimed on Friday that at least 16 people were killed and 35 others injured in joint British-United States airstrikes targeting Yemen's Houthi rebels. This is the highest number of deaths publicly acknowledged in several rounds of attacks carried out by rebels on ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

The Haitians have stepped up attacks on shipping in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, and demanded that Israel end the war in Gaza, which has killed more than 36,000 Palestinians.

The Haitians said on Friday that one of the attacks targeted a building housing Hodeida radio and civilian homes in the port city on the Red Sea. The Haitians described all those killed and wounded in Hodeida as civilians. The rebel force that has occupied Yemen's capital, Sanaa, since 2014 includes fighters who are often not in uniform.

Haitians have carried out more than 50 attacks

The US and Britain have launched attacks against Haitians since January. Haiti's supreme leader Abdul Malik al-Hait offered a total death toll from attacks to that point at 40 people killed and 35 others injured. He did not provide details at the time between civilian and combatant casualties.

The Haitians have carried out more than 50 attacks since November, killing three sailors, seizing one ship and sinking another, according to the US Maritime Administration. This week they attacked a ship carrying grain to Iran.
