Conspiracy against PM is treason, strict comment from Delhi High Court

Delhi High Court said that conspiracy against the Prime Minister is tantamount to treason and is a serious crime. Justice Jasmeet Singh said that such allegations cannot be made without thinking, there should be solid evidence for this.

Delhi High Court said that conspiracy against the Prime Minister is tantamount to treason. During the hearing, Justice Jasmeet Singh said that the allegation of conspiracy against the Prime Minister by any person cannot be made irresponsibly and for this the case should be based on solid and concrete reasons. The court commented that “conspiracy to target the Prime Minister is an offense under the IPC.”

Actually, the Delhi High Court was hearing the defamation case filed by Biju Janata Dal MP Pinaki Mishra against lawyer Jai Ananth Dehadrai. According to the allegations, Dehadrai has accused Pinki Mishra of being involved in a conspiracy to target Prime Minister Modi. The court told Dehadrai's lawyer that it had no problem with him exercising his freedom of expression, but what Dehadrai was saying would have serious consequences as it would affect the highest office in the country. Court's strict comment

The court strictly said that conspiracy against the Prime Minister amounts to treason and unless Dehadraya is able to prove such allegations against Pinaki, a prohibitory order will be passed. You are making a serious allegation of a conspiracy against the Prime Minister by a sitting MP. Dehadray will present his evidence in the next hearing of this case. After that the court will decide whether a defamation case is made out against Mishra or not.

Pinaki Mishra vs Anant Dehadray

Actually, Pinaki Mishra has filed a case against Anant Dehadray for making corruption allegations against him and calling him “Canning Lane”, “Odia Babu” and “Puri ka Dalal”. This case is related to Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra. In the petition filed in the court, Pinaki Mishra has demanded an apology from Anant Dehadray and besides demanding compensation, he has also demanded to stop making derogatory allegations. Also, a demand has been made to give instructions to remove the alleged derogatory material present on the platforms of X and news agencies ANI, PTI.

Case related to TMC leader also

Let us tell you, before this Mahua Moitra had also filed a defamation case against Anant Dehadray. However, the High Court had refused to grant interim relief to the TMC leader in this case. Dehadray has also filed a defamation case against Moitra. The High Court is still considering this matter.
