Despite Ryan Parag's stormy innings, the team lost, RCB batsman's tremendous unbeaten century, Sanju Samson flopped

 


 The third round of Ranji Trophy 2023-24 concluded today and the remaining nine matches ended on the fourth day. Some teams won big, while some lost by huge margins, while many matches were drawn due to bad light. Among the key players, Assam captain Riyan Parag played an inning of 74 runs in 54 balls with the help of five fours and five sixes. Kerala captain Sanju Samson could score only 15 runs. At the same time, Goa's Suyash Prabhudessai scored an excellent century.

Elite, Group A

In reply to Jharkhand's 316, Services scored 473/8 in their first innings and the match was a draw. Services' Ravi Chauhan (158) was adjudged player of the match.

Elite, Group B

Chasing the target of 363 given by Andhra, Assam collapsed after scoring 190 in its second innings and lost by 172 runs. Andhra captain Ricky Bhui (24 and 125) became the player of the match.

In reply to Bengal's first innings, Chhattisgarh scored 214/6 and the match was a draw. Bengal's Abhishek Porel (114) was adjudged the player of the match.

While chasing the target of 327 against Mumbai, Kerala team was reduced to 94 and lost the match by 232 runs. Captain Sanju Samson scored 15* runs. Whereas Shams Mulani took 5 wickets. Mumbai's Mohit Awasthi (7/57 and 32) was named player of the match.

The match between Uttar Pradesh and Bihar is a draw. Bihar scored 260 in their first innings, in reply Uttar Pradesh scored 45/3. Bihar's Sharman Nigrodh (87) was adjudged player of the match.

Elite, Group C

The match between Karnataka and Goa also ended in a draw. In its second innings, Goa scored 282/6, in which Suyyash Prabhudesai's unbeaten inning of 143 runs had an important contribution. Karnataka captain Mayank Agarwal became the player of the match for his innings of 114 runs.

Punjab's innings against Tripura was limited to 109, in which Nehal Wadhera contributed 56 runs. In the reply innings, Tripura scored 51/2 and the match was a draw. Tripura's Manisankar (3/22) received the Player of the Match award.

The game between Chandigarh and Gujarat was not played on the fourth day due to bad light, resulting in a draw.

Elite, Group D

Jammu & Kashmir registered a thrilling win against Odisha by 2 wickets. Jammu and Kashmir achieved the target of 149 by losing 8 wickets thanks to Abdul Samad's unbeaten inning of 66 runs.
