3 players who can replace Virat Kohli for the first two tests against England

The Indian team has suffered a setback before the series against England starting from January 25 . Virat Kohli has withdrawn his name from the first two test matches due to personal reasons. The BCCI confirmed that Kohli will be unavailable for the two Test matches and has requested privacy. BCCI mentioned that his replacement can be announced soon. So we will tell you about those 3 players who can replace Virat Kohli.

Cheteshwar Pujara

35-year-old Cheteshwar Pujara has recently made his mark in domestic cricket with a double century against Jharkhand in the Ranji Trophy. He has performed well for the Indian team in Tests in the past also. In such a situation, BCCI can include Pujara in place of Virat. Talking about Pujara's Test career, he has played 103 matches and scored 7195 runs at an average of 43.61. During this period, he has seen 19 centuries, 3 double centuries and 35 half-centuries with his bat.

Rajat Patidar

Rajat Patidar has made a whole lot of noise after being selected in the ODI team over the last few years, but it was his impressive performances in the ongoing India A vs England Lions series that caught the attention of the selectors. Patidar played century innings of 151 and 111 runs in the last two matches. He played good shots against both fast bowlers and spin. In such a situation, he is a strong contender to replace Virat Kohli. Talking about Patidar's first class career, he has played 55 matches and scored 4000 runs at an average of 45.97. He has 12 centuries and 22 half-centuries in his name in first class cricket.

Sarfaraz Khan

After scoring 96 and 55 runs in the two matches so far while playing for India A against England Lions, Sarfaraz Khan has been knocking on every door of selection to join the Test team. Has scored runs at an average of 154, 122 and 91 in the last three Ranji Trophy editions. Sarfaraz has been rocking with the bat in red-ball cricket in domestic cricket since 2020. Will Kohli's absence finally give Sarfaraz a chance to be included in the team for the first time? This will be known in the coming time. The right-handed batsman has played 44 matches in first class cricket and scored 3751 runs at an impressive average of 68.20. Sarfaraz has 13 centuries and 11 half-centuries in his name in first class cricket.
