Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that Netaji created the Indian National Army.

Before CISF, only Delhi Police and people associated with Parliament Security used to provide security at the Parliament Gate. Last year in December, during the Parliament session, some people had entered the Parliament. The opposition had then created a ruckus in the Parliament over the security lapse.

Parliament will now be protected by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel. CISF personnel will guard the entry and exit gates of Parliament during the budget session of Parliament starting next week. Official sources said that a contingent of 140 CISF personnel has been deployed in the Parliament complex for this purpose. CISF will now check the guests coming and going inside the Parliament.

CISF will also do the work of guest security and frisking. Earlier, only people associated with Delhi Police and Parliament Security used to provide security at the Parliament Gate. Last year in December, during the Parliament session, some people had entered the Parliament. The opposition had created a ruckus in the Parliament over the security lapse in Parliament. CISF soldiers have also started the security work of the Parliament. The Home Ministry has taken the responsibility of security of the Parliament to CISF in view of the security breach that took place in the Parliament on December 13 last month.

Decision taken after extensive review

Under the new arrangement, a contingent of 140 CISF personnel has been deployed inside the Parliament complex to check the arrivals and their luggage during the Budget session starting from January 31 next week. The Union Home Ministry has approved tight security after a comprehensive review of security after some people entered the Parliament chamber full of MPs and sprayed colorful spray on December 13 last year.

Sources say that a total of 140 Central Industrial Security Force personnel have taken up position in the Parliament complex since yesterday Monday. They will check the guests coming to Parliament and their luggage, and will also provide fire safety cover to the building. He said that the CISF team is inspecting the Parliament complex along with other security agencies already present there so that they are ready for work when the budget session starts from next week (January 31).

Shoes, belt and jacket will also be checked

Sources say the CISF will provide airport-like security to the new and old Parliament buildings, where people and their luggage will be checked through X-ray machines, hand-held detectors, and even shoes, heavy jackets and belts. It will be placed on a tray and passed through an X-ray scanner.

CISF, with around 1.70 lakh personnel, is a Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) under the Union Home Ministry. CISF protects 68 civil airports in the country apart from important establishments in the aerospace and nuclear energy sectors.
