Problems like heaviness in the stomach, gas formation or indigestion often occur due to eating at night, but there is no need to worry! We can improve the digestion of food eaten at night by making some changes in our daily routine. The importance of proper digestion cannot be denied as it is extremely important for our physical and mental health. To overcome this problem, there are some simple exercises which can be done after eating food. Let us know which are these exercises and how they can give us relief from this problem.

Walking:

After eating food, one should walk at a natural pace for 10-15 minutes. This will help in better digestion of food. Walking brings movement to the stomach muscles which helps in moving food forward.

The blood circulation of the body increases due to which the secretion of digestive juices improves. Taking deep breaths while walking provides oxygen to the stomach which is essential for digestion. Not only this, walking also removes the problems of gas and constipation.

Vajrasana:

Sitting in Vajrasana after eating food brings flexibility in the stomach muscles which helps in digestion. In Vajrasana there is pressure inside the stomach which helps in speeding up the digestion process. It massages the intestines so that food keeps moving forward and constipation does not occur.

Padmasana

Padmasana puts pressure on the stomach which stimulates the digestive system and helps in moving food forward. Padmasana increases blood circulation in the stomach which promotes the production of digestive juices.

It increases the peristaltic activity of the intestines which helps in moving food. Padmasana also helps in reducing problems like gas, bloating and constipation.

Pawanmuktasana

Pawanmuktasana yoga puts pressure on the stomach which helps in speeding up the digestion process. It stretches and massages the muscles of the intestines and stomach. This increases blood circulation in the stomach, which increases the secretion of digestive juices. It increases intestinal motility which helps in the movement of food. And helps in reducing the problems of gas, constipation and indigestion.
