Sunrise Candles Success Story: The world was dark, illuminated with a business idea

Bhavesh Chandu Bhatia's eyes were weak since childhood. He could see blurry. But his mother got him admitted in a normal school so that he does not consider himself different from others.

Bhavesh Chandubhai Bhatia, on the strength of his passion and courage, did what only rare people can do. Despite being blind , he set up his own candle business and today he is the owner of a company worth crores. He started his business as a street vendor . Today he is counted among the successful businessmen of the country.

He has set his example by giving employment to 9000 Divyangjans. Their products are bought not only in the country but in many countries of the world. 52-year-old Bhatia's company Sunrise Candle currently manufactures more than 10,000 candle designs. There are 1000 multinational companies around the world, who buy products from them.

Craft was Bhavesh's favorite subject

Bhavesh Chandu Bhatia is a resident of Gujarat and his family had settled in Maharashtra from Kutch in search of work. His eyes were weak since childhood. He could see blurry. But his mother got him admitted in a normal school so that he does not consider himself different from others. Craft was Bhavesh's favorite subject since school. After passing 10th, Bhavesh traveled from Gondia to Nepal on a double pedal cycle with a disabled friend.

Sunrise Candle was founded in the year 1994

Bhavesh Chandu Bhatia did his MA in Economics from Gondia itself. After studies, there was pressure on him to take care of the house. Meanwhile, his mother got cancer. All the capital of the house was spent in the treatment of the mother but she could not survive. He was interested in craft. For this reason, he did many more courses including basic candle making in National Association for the Blind (NAB). After taking training here for a year, he established Sunrise Candle in the year 1994.

Rented a hand car for Rs 50?

Bhavesh hired a hand car for Rs.50 and collected Rs.5000 by massaging people. After this he started the work of making candles. He started selling candles on a cart in front of the Holy Cross Church in Mahabaleshwar. He used to earn 25 rupees every day from this. His wife Neeta also has an important contribution in his success. She had met him as a tourist but later they fell in love and got married. She was not even a Divyang and belonged to a prosperous family but she helped Bhavesh as a helper in making candles.

Turning point in life came in the year 2007

The turning point came in the life of Bhavesh Chandubhai Bhatia in the year 2007 when he got a chance to display the design of 12 thousand candles with the help of a friend. After this he became very popular and he started getting orders from many companies. Bhavesh has great interest in sports. He is also a Para Olympian and has won many awards in Javelin Throw for the country.
