Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata, head of the Tata Group, has recently been honored by Australia with its highest civilian award, the Order of Australia. Australia's Ambassador to India Barry O'Farrell gave him this honor on behalf of the Australian Government. He has been given this honor for his special efforts made in strengthening the relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Farrel Ratan Tata was described as a star of business, industry as well as philanthropy world. He has said that Tata has an important contribution in the development of Australia. Their influence can be seen.
Tata group company TCS has about 17,000 employees in Australia, which is the highest among any Indian company. The Tata group has been a supporter of the India-Australia Cooperation Trade Agreement in 2022.
He said that Ratan Tata has done many such progressive works between the two countries. Tata has also been appointed as an honorary officer by Australia in the past. A month later, it was decided to confer the highest honour.
Industrialist Ratan Tata has been awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2008 by the Government of India. Apart from this, he has also received awards from many other countries including India.
