Rs 2000 notes will be out of circulation, did the Modi government play a master stroke before the Lok Sabha elections?

Black money has been a major issue of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. In such a situation, the decision to withdraw 2000 rupee notes is being considered as a step in this direction. Black money was a major issue of Narendra Modi and BJP in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

After the results of the Karnataka elections, the decision that has come before the country on May 19 is also shocking. Yes, late in the evening the decision was given to the RBI that it will withdraw the Rs 2,000 notes. The announcement is very measured. The RBI did not say at all that it is going out of circulation or demonetizing Rs 2,000 notes. He said that RBI wants that the purpose of Rs 2000 notes is over and now it is withdrawing them. But it will remain legal tender. It cannot happen that the government should not be behind this decision. In fact, the government has played a master stroke to eliminate black money from the country. Let us also tell you how?

Black money has been the issue of the government

Black money has been a major issue of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. In such a situation, the decision to withdraw 2000 rupee notes is being considered as a step in this direction. Black money was a major issue of Narendra Modi and BJP in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. The demonetisation that was done in the year 2016 was done keeping black money in mind. This time too, according to the instructions given by the government, the decision taken by the Reserve Bank of India seems to have been taken. The effect of which will be on such people who have accumulated black money by hoarding high notes. That's why the government has given only 131 days. Within which you can get only 10 notes of 2000 rupees daily or which can be deposited in the bank account or can be exchanged.

Black money deposited in Rs 2000 notes?

In fact, for some time, 2000 rupee notes have disappeared from the market. There are some main reasons for this. Firstly, banks had stopped keeping Rs 2000 notes in ATMs. On the other hand, for the last five years, RBI had also stopped printing Rs 2,000 notes. In such a situation, the question was emerging that where are the Rs 2,000 notes? Have people started keeping black money in the form of Rs 2000 notes? It was also mentioned several times and wherever raids took place, most of the notes of Rs 2000 were found. For this reason, doubt was turning into belief that many people have kept their black money hidden in the form of big notes.

Master stroke of the government before the elections!

Many people are also considering it as a master stroke of the Modi government at the Centre. The reason is the use of black money in elections. In the year 2016, before the UP assembly elections, the government had demonetised. After that many parties faced shortage of election funding. This may not have happened, but it is no less than demonetisation for political parties and assembly elections are to be held in half a dozen states in the coming months. In which elections are to be held in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana. There is a Lok Sabha election in the year 2024. Whose preparations have already started. The effect of the decisions taken on Rs 2000 will be seen on political parties.

10.8 percent remained in circulation till March 2023

In November 2016, Rs 2,000 notes were introduced into circulation when Rs 500 and Rs 100 notes were demonetised. RBI has made it clear that the purpose of introducing Rs 2,000 notes has been achieved. Now the system is in sufficient quantity in other banks. No one needs to worry. According to the RBI, 89 percent of the total Rs 2,000 notes were issued before March 2017. As of March 31, 2018, Rs 2000 notes were in circulation at Rs 6.73 lakh crore. On March 31, 2023, the circulation of these notes has reduced to 10.8 percent i.e. Rs 3.62 lakh crore.
