Now the post office will deliver all the essential goods at your doorstep, agreement will be signed with ONDC

India Post has signed an MoU with Traders Association Cat. Under which he will provide logistic service to about 8 crore businessmen of the country. In such a situation, if 8 crore businessmen of the country register themselves in ONDC, then the work of delivering their goods to the customer will be done by the post office.

Soon, from grocery items like flour, pulses, rice to electronic goods like mobile computers and laptops, the post office will deliver to your home. For this, an agreement can be signed with ONDC soon. Infact India Post has signed an MoU with Traders Association Cat. Under which he will provide logistic service to about 8 crore businessmen of the country. In such a situation, if 8 crore businessmen of the country register themselves in ONDC, then the work of delivering their goods to the customer will be done by the post office. This is how the Post Office and CAT deal have outlined plans to onboard the Post Office as a Logistics Service Provider on the ONDS platform.

Why is post office important for ONDC?

The post office is very important for the government ONDC. If the post office connects with this platform, then it will be very easy to provide logistic service in every corner of the country. Along with this, it will be easy to promote ONDC till the villages. Because the post office is also present in the remote areas of the country, where delivery would be difficult for the rest of the logistic companies of the country, it would be very easy for the post office. On the other hand, Jinti work force is with the post office and the kind of infra and availability that the post office has, is not available with any logistic service provider in the country. The workforce of the post office will be able to deliver at the customer's doorstep faster and easier than other service providers.

How heavy is the post office on other logistics providers?

The country's Minister of State for Communications, Devusingh Jesingbhai Chauhan says that the Postal Department has changed itself with the times and according to the demands of the public and with the advent of technology and inclusion of new services, India Post has become a modern service provider. He further said that at present India Post through its network of 1.59 lakh post offices is providing banking, insurance for the benefits of various welfare schemes run by the government in every village. Apart from this, India Post has 5 lakh work force across the country.

Post office is connected to these platforms

India Post has in the recent past entered into similar agreements with the Government e-Marketplace and Regional Centers of Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited to provide pick-up and delivery of parcels at the consignees' doorsteps. In such a situation, India Post will also soon join the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) platform, which is being developed by the Ministry of Commerce as a common service provider.
