Lungs Cancer: Children can also be victims of lung cancer, revealed in the study, know the symptoms from experts

Lungs Cancer in kids: Lungs cancer cases have been reported in 8 percent of children aged 1 to 14 years. If it is not controlled, then it can become a big danger in the coming times.

Lungs Cancer: Lungs cancer cases are increasing every year due to increasing pollution and smoking habits in India . Lung cancer is considered more dangerous than other cancers. The death rate is also high in this. It is a matter of concern that even small children are now falling prey to lung cancer. This has been revealed in the research published in the Journal of Medical Case Report. Research has said that lung cancer is also being found in children. In such a situation, one should be cautious about his health.

According to research, 0.5 percent of the total cases of lung cancer are also coming in children. This includes newborn children as well. Lung cancer is also being detected late in children. In some cases, TB diagnosis is being done in the beginning, due to which cancer is not being identified on time.

Information also given in the National Cancer Registry Program

Apart from the Journal of Medical Case Reports, this fact has also been disclosed in the Cancer Registry of India. Data from the National Cancer Registry Program states that lung cancer cases have been reported in 8 percent of children aged 1 to 14 years. If it is not controlled, then it can become a big danger in the coming times.

According to doctors, there are cases of lung cancer in children, although the cause of this cancer is not yet clear, but in some cases, due to genetic reasons, this cancer can spread in children. Therefore, it is not necessary that lung cancer is caused by pollution or smoking.

These symptoms are seen in children

Difficulty in breathing: If the child has a persistent cough and also has difficulty in breathing, then it can be a symptom of lung cancer.

Sudden weight loss: If your child has suddenly started losing weight, then get it checked.

Persistence of weakness and fatigue: If the child remains tired or weak without any reason, then this can also be a symptom of lung cancer.

Swelling in the throat: Some research suggests that swelling around the throat can be a symptom of lung cancer. In such a situation, this problem should not be ignored either.

What do experts say

Dr. Prabhat Malik, Additional Professor in the Department of Medical Oncology at AIIMS, explains that pollution is the major cause of lung cancer in non-smokers. In some cases, it can also be due to genetic reasons, but the genetic factor in lung cancer is not the same as described in ovarian or breast cancer.
