King Charles Coronation: Controversy in Britain before the coronation, six people opposing the monarchy arrested


King Charles Coronation:
Controversy has been seen in London before the coronation of King Charles III. Six people, including the leader of the anti-monarchy group Republic, have been arrested here.

Britain: Britain's King Charles III and Queen Camilla will be crowned at Westminster Abbey Church on Saturday at 3:30 pm (Indian time). Controversy has started in Britain before this. The head of Britain's main Republican group opposing the coronation and other activists have been arrested. 

Six people, including Graham Smith, leader of the anti-monarchy group Republic, have been arrested. The Republican group has informed by tweeting that this morning, Graham Smith and 5 members of our team have been arrested. Hundreds of placards were seized. Is this a democracy? Significantly, members of the Republic had gathered near Trafalgar Square in London for a Not My King protest a few hours before the coronation ceremony. 

Coronation preparations begin 

King Charles III will be coronated on Saturday (May 6) and slogans of 'God save the emperor' will be raised while crowning. According to media reports, invitations have been sent to heads of states and governments of 100 countries of the world to attend the coronation ceremony. Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar is participating in this program.

Strong security arrangements 

Media reports have claimed that twenty thousand uniformed security personnel are spread not only in London but also in its surrounding area ahead of the coronation ceremony, which has turned the capital into a fortress. That this coronation is going to happen in Britain after a long period of 70 years. Earlier in the year 1953, Queen Elizabeth was coronated.

Why there is opposition to the coronation 

Significantly, Britain is facing economic instability these days. The public is troubled by the skyrocketing inflation. In such a situation, some organizations are calling this coronation an extravagance, they believe that it is wrong to charge crores of rupees from the taxpayers for the coronation of Britain's royal family.
