Fear of ONDC! Swiggy-Zomato engaged in luring customers by luring cheap offers

Swiggy-Zomato has started wooing its customers since ONDC came into the market. Swiggy-Zomato is facing huge losses since the launch of ONDC.

Ever since the entry of ONDC in the market. The duopoly of online food and grocery delivery apps like Swiggy and Zomato is under threat. Where earlier Swiggy-Zomato used to charge hefty delivery charges and commission for ordering food or anything from customers. At the same time, after the launch of the government's ONDC, they have started giving offers to the people again.

Swiggy-Zomato has started wooing its customers since ONDC came into the market. Obviously, the customer will go to the place where he gets the cheapest thing, in such a situation most of the customers of Swiggy-Zomato had shifted to ONDC. After which Swiggy-Zomato is suffering a lot. To make up for the same loss, they are stopping them by offering them.

Will the cheap offer strategy work?

Swiggy-Zomato had earned a lot in the form of commission from customers in the past. After which the government started its own ONDC i.e. Open Network for Digital Commerce. On which you are getting pizza-burger to household items at very low prices. In such a situation, customers of Swiggy's Instamart, Zomato and all customers ordering food from Swiggy have switched to ONDC.

To entice and get them back, online food delivery apps are giving them many types of offers. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see whether this strategy of Swiggy-Zomato will be of any use to them.

What is ONDC?

ONDC is online food, grocery delivery platform by Govt. It was launched in September last year. Its service is currently available on Paytm and Magicpin. Where Swiggy-Zomato takes 30-40 percent commission from the customers. Whereas ONDC charges 3 to 4 percent commission from the customers. You can understand this in such a way that the bigger the platform, the higher its commission charge. Also, on ordering from ONDC, the user does not have to pay the delivery fee. Currently, more than 10,000 deliveries are being made daily from ONDC.
