Do men also have the problem of 'menopause'? Know how much trouble this problem gives them?

Men's experience of menopause is very different from that of women. As age increases, a person's ability to produce hormones also decreases. This is called 'male menopause' or andropause.

What Is Male Menopause: Menopause is that time in the life of women, when they are getting freedom from the process of periods. After menopause, the period cycle of women stops forever. During this process, they have to face many problems, such as sleeplessness, irregular periods, weight gain, joint pain, mood swings etc. Actually menopause starts during the age of 45 and 55 years. In this, the production of estrogen and progesterone starts falling in the body, which work to control the period cycle. Now the question arises whether men also have to go through the problem of menopause?

According to a TOI report, the experience of menopause for men is very different from that of women. As age increases, a person's capacity to produce hormones also decreases. This is called 'male menopause' or andropause. This process usually starts between the ages of 40 to 60 in men. During this, the level of testosterone starts falling, which is responsible for the beard, hair on the face and sexual activity of the man.

What are the symptoms of 'Male Menopause'?

As they age, their testosterone levels also start to decrease. Due to the fall in the level of testosterone, men also have to face many problems. It is not necessary that the same symptoms appear in all men. Some may see fewer symptoms and some may have more. Let us know how the symptoms of 'male menopause' are seen in men.

According to the report, a man going through 'male menopause' feels very tired. His energy starts decreasing with time. There is difficulty in doing everyday tasks. Physical ability starts getting affected. Not only this, they also have to face hot flashes, in which a sudden feeling of heat starts in the body. Excessive sweating starts, especially on the neck, chest and face. This symptom is also seen in women during menopause.

The risk of osteoporosis increases!

Men also face mood swings during andropause. Sometimes they feel very sad, sometimes very happy, sometimes excited and sometimes worried. Testosterone is very important for maintaining muscle mass. When the level of testosterone falls, there is a decrease in the muscles and physical strength of men. It becomes a bit difficult for them to do any heavy work. Testosterone also works to maintain bone density. But during andropause, when the level of testosterone in men falls, it has a direct effect on the bones as well and the risk of osteoporosis increases.
