When endometrial tissue starts developing on the lining tissue of ovary, bowl and pelvis, then the problem of endometriosis starts. About 40 percent of women have difficulty in conceiving due to endometriosis. So today we are going to tell you what is endometriosis, what are its symptoms and treatment.

Endometriosis treatment

There is no single cure for endometriosis. Treatment usually involves surgery or medication. You may need to try different treatments to help you feel better.

Pain medicine -   Your doctor can give you an over-the-counter pain reliever medicine. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID's) such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) or naproxen (Aleve) work for many people. If these medicines do not give relief from your pain, then other treatments can be adopted.

Hormones- Hormone therapy reduces the amount of estrogen created in your body and can stop your periods. It helps the wounds to bleed less so that there is no excessive swelling and cyst formation.

Surgery-  Doctors can recommend surgery to remove the affected tissue in patients with endometriosis. In some cases, surgery helps symptomatically and can increase your chances of getting pregnant. Your doctor may use a laparoscope or perform a standard surgery. In the most severe cases, you may need a hysterectomy surgery to take out your ovaries and uterus.
