5-Door Mahindra Thar: The 5-door Thar off-roader SUV by Mahindra & Mahindra can be introduced on India's 75th Independence Day. According to reports, the company will do this during an event in South Africa from 15 to 16 August this year. The 5-door Thar could go on sale in the first half of this year and will feature a longer wheelbase. The upcoming car will compete with the 5-door Maruti Suzuki Jimny, which is likely to hit the market in the first week of June 2023.

Long wheelbase can be seen in 5-door Thar. Which could be around 300mm longer than its 3-door counterpart. In this you can get a cabin with more space. Many features can be found in it like the smaller Thar model.

5-Door Thar: Features

Upcoming Thar can get updated touchscreen infotainment system, sunglass holder and center armrest in its front. Like the three door version of Thar, five door Thar can get round headlamps, bigger wheels and tailgate mounted spare wheel. In this, like all variants, the signature boxy stance will be kept continuous.

5-Door Thar: Powertrain

There is a possibility that 2.2 liter diesel and 2.0 liter turbo petrol engines can be seen in the 5-door SUV, which is also available in its 3-door variant. In this, you can get manual and automatic gearbox options. Upcoming Thar can also get 4X2 and 4X2 drivetrain options.

Price and Availability

Will be introduced in August this year and soon after the launch it will be made available for sale in the market. At present, the official information about its price has not been revealed, but according to the reports, its possible price can be around Rs 15 lakh.
