Who was Shakira Khalili?

Shakira Khalili was born on 27 August 1947 in Chennai to businessman Ghulam Hussain Namazi and Gauhar Taj Begum Mirza. She was the granddaughter of the Diwan of Mysore. When she was 18 years old, she had a love marriage with Akbar Mirza Khalili, the son of her mother's sister.

Although he had four daughters from that marriage, but that relationship could not last long. They got divorced within a few years. After this, during the visit of the Nawabs of Rampur in 1982, Shakira Khalili came in contact with Swami Shraddhanand. Murli Manohar Mishra alias Shraddhanand had claimed that he was a Swami and Tantrik. Shakira got caught in Swami's claims.

Second marriage to Swami Shraddhanand

After the divorce, Shakira slowly fell in love with Swami Shraddhanand, but the alleged Swami was keeping an eye on her property. Shakira married Murli Manohar Mishra in 1986 against the wishes of her daughters. After this Shakira was separated from the family. After this the property fight started.

Murli Manohar Mishra started claiming rights over Shakira's property, after which Shakira's mother took refuge in the law. Gradually, Shakira Khalili came to know about Murli Manohar Mishra's tricks, after which both of them started fighting.

Shakira's murder in the greed of property

In the year 1991, Murli Manohar Mishra attacked Shakira Khalili with the intention of killing her but she did not die. Shakira was still breathing when she was buried. That is, Shakira was buried alive. After taking out the dead body, this secret was revealed and Mishra was arrested.

Protracted legal case

In May 2004, 11 years after the incident, Murli Manohar Mishra was convicted of murder by the Additional City Civil Judge. After which the Karnataka High Court converted Mishra's sentence to life imprisonment. Since then he is in jail.
