Sanju Samson reached Rajasthan Royals because of Sreesanth, then Rahul Dravid changed his luck

Under the captaincy of Sanju Samson, the current captain of Rajasthan Royals, this franchise has been doing well for the last few seasons. Sanju has increased the number of his fans even more with his batting and captaincy. More than that, no other player has played as many IPL matches as Samson has played for Rajasthan Royals. No other player has scored as many runs as Samson has scored for Rajasthan in IPL.

Sanju is second only to the late great Shane Warne in the list of playing most matches as Rajasthan captain in the IPL. The story of Sanju's association with Rajasthan has been very different and now Sanju himself has told this story. Sanju has told that it was Shanthakumaran Sreesanth who had brought him to Rajasthan to give him a trial and after that the name of Rajasthan was added to the page of his life.

In a recent interaction with Star Sports, Samson revealed, "Sreesanth took me to Rajasthan to give him trials. Rahul Dravid was also there. Paddy Upton was also there. I wasn't expecting much from the trials because I didn't know what kind of players they were looking for. It was a two-day trial which was very special because I never batted like that again. Then Rahul sir came and told me, "You are definitely very good. are doing. Would you like to play for Rajasthan Royals?"

This gave me a lot of confidence, seeing that this is what Rahul sir was saying. If a legend like him says so, it means I am good enough. Since then Sanju's life has changed and now he is working to take this team forward as a captain. Samson was part of the franchise for three seasons after 2013 and returned to Rajasthan in 2018, following his stint with Delhi. He was later named as the captain in 2021 and the Rajasthan team had not reached the IPL final since winning in 2008 but Sanju led Rajasthan to the final of IPL 2022 under his captaincy.
