Defamation Case: Disappointment from the Sessions Court! Now Rahul Gandhi reached Gujarat High Court in defamation case


Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has now moved the Gujarat High Court against his conviction in the defamation case.
New Delhi. Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has reached the High Court of Gujarat on Tuesday . Rahul has filed a petition here to stay his conviction (conviction) in the defamation case . Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had approached the sessions court where the decision of the lower court was upheld.

In fact, during the Lok Sabha elections in 2019, Rahul Gandhi gave a speech in a rally regarding the Modi surname. During this, Rahul Gandhi had said, 'Why are all thieves of Modi surname?' On this statement, a defamation case was filed against Rahul by a BJP MLA from Gujarat.
The magistrate court of Surat in Gujarat convicted Rahul Gandhi in this case. The court sentenced Rahul to 2 years in jail. After this, Rahul Gandhi reached the sessions court in Surat, where he did not get relief. Giving a big blow to Rahul, the sessions court had continued the decision of the lower court. Now Rahul Gandhi has moved the High Court.

Rahul Gandhi had given this statement while targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his speech. But after the punishment of Rahul Gandhi, BJP called it an insult to all the people with Modi surname. Not only this, BJP also accused Rahul of insulting the people of OBC community. However, Rahul Gandhi has not said on his statement that he has not said anything wrong in it.

MP went after punishment
Rahul was convicted in the defamation case by the Magistrate Court of Surat, Gujarat. After which he was given a sentence of 2 years. Within 24 hours of receiving the sentence, a notice was sent to Rahul from the parliamentary secretariat, in which his membership of the Lok Sabha was cancelled. The Congress strongly besieged the central government on this move and opposed the Modi government at the center on a large scale.
