Will H3N2 wreak havoc like Corona? Why did NITI Aayog say keep medicine and oxygen ready

Influenza H3N2: Cases of H3N2 virus are increasing across the country and in the meantime NITI Aayog has directed states to ensure availability of preparedness, manpower, medicine, medical oxygen and equipment in hospitals.

H3N2 Virus: The outbreak of H3N2 virus is increasing rapidly across the country. Meanwhile, NITI Aayog has held a meeting to form an action task force to deal with influenza. In the meeting of the commission, the states have been asked to ensure the availability of preparedness, manpower, medicine, medical oxygen and equipment in hospitals to deal with the virus. The commission has decided that to deal with the virus, first of all people need to be made aware.

It was discussed in the meeting of NITI Aayog that steps will be taken to create awareness among the people. The Commission has directed to follow rules like Corona to deal with Influenza virus. Instructions will also be issued to the states in this regard. The Commission has issued a press release advising people to be careful. The commission said that it was advised to cover the nose and mouth, avoid going to crowded places, do not come in contact with people with symptoms and get tested if symptoms are found.

Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also asked to increase monitoring

There have been two deaths in India due to seasonal influenza. One death has been registered in Karnataka and one death in Haryana. Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had on Friday asked the states to be vigilant and closely monitor the situation in view of the rise in cases. According to the data shared by the Ministry of Health, from January 2 to March 5, 451 cases of H3N2 have been reported in the country.

Two deaths due to influenza in India

In the last three months, 90 cases of H3N2 have been reported. At the same time, an 82-year-old man has died in Karnataka, who was suffering from the same virus. He was admitted to the hospital on 24 February and died on 1 March. A sample was sent for examination, whose report on March 6 confirmed that he was infected with the virus. At the same time, in Haryana also a patient has died due to H3N2 virus.
