ED Raids: Mallikarjun Kharge furious over raids on Lalu family's premises - now water has gone over his head

Congress over ED Raids in Alleged Land For Jobs Scam: Congress President Mallikarjuna on Friday (March 10) raids by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on several premises of the family of former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. Kharge (Mallikarjun Kharge) targeted the Modi government at the Center. Kharge even said that now the water has gone over the head.

In fact, on Friday, the ED raided several cities in Bihar and many other places as part of money laundering probe in the job-for-land 'scam' case. During this, the premises of Lalu Yadav's family and other RJD leaders were also raided. Raids were also conducted at the premises of three daughters of the RJD chief.

'Now the water has gone over the head'

On ED's action, Congress President Mallikarjuna accused the Modi government of misusing agencies. Kharge tweeted late Friday evening, "For the last 14 hours, Modi ji has kept ED sitting at Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav's house. His pregnant wife and sisters are being harassed. Lalu Prasad Yadav ji is old, sick, even then the Modi government did not show humanity towards him. Now the water has gone over the head.

Modi government accused of misuse of ED-CBI

In another tweet, Congress President Kharge wrote, "Modi government is making a vicious attempt to kill democracy by misusing ED-CBI on opposition leaders. Where were the agencies of the Modi government when the fugitives ran away from the country with crores? When the wealth of a 'best friend' skyrockets, why is there no investigation? The public will give a befitting reply to this dictatorship!

Lalu said – my daughters, little granddaughters and pregnant daughter-in-law have been kept seated

RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav also targeted BJP by tweeting about ED's raid. He tweeted, “We have also seen the dark phase of Emergency. We fought that battle too. Today my daughters, little granddaughters and pregnant daughter-in-law have been kept sitting for 15 hours by the BJP ED in baseless vindictive cases. Will the BJP stoop to such a low level and fight a political battle with us?

In another tweet, Lalu Yadav said, "My ideological fight against the Sangh and the BJP has been and will continue." I have never bowed before them and no one from my family and party will bow down before your politics.

What did ED find in the raid?

Sources said that during the raids, the ED has seized Rs 53 lakh in cash, USD 1,900, about 540 grams of gold and 1.5 kg of gold jewellery. According to sources, the ED conducted searches at a house in Delhi's New Friends Colony area where Tejashwi Yadav was present. The address of this house is in the name of AK Infosystems Private Limited Company. It is alleged that the Yadav family is using it as their residential property.

ED raids residences of Lalu Prasad's daughters Ragini Yadav, Chanda Yadav and Hema Yadav and former RJD MLAs Abu Dojana, Amit Katyal, Navdeep Sardana and Praveen Jain in Patna, Phulwari Sharif, Delhi-NCR, Ranchi and Mumbai in Bihar .

When did the alleged scam happen?

It is alleged that the alleged scam was carried out during the UPA-1 government when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Railway Minister. It is alleged that during 2004-2009 various persons were appointed in Group D in various zones of Indian Railways and in return they transferred their land to the family members of the then Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and AK Infosystems Private Limited.
