Delhi Liquor Case: Court extends ED custody of Manish Sisodia for 5 days

Earlier, Sisodia ED had sought Sisodia's remand saying that he is repeatedly changing his statement.

New Delhi. Manish Sisodia 's ED custody has been extended for 5 more days in the liquor scam case . Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court extended Sisodia's remand for 5 more days while giving its decision on Friday. However, the court has allowed him to sign checks of Rs 40,000 and Rs 45,000 for his family's expenses and his wife's medical expenses.

Earlier, after hearing the arguments of both the sides, the court had reserved its decision. The ED had sought Sisodia's remand saying that he was repeatedly changing his statement. They have to interrogate three people sitting face to face. These include the Excise Commissioner of Delhi and an IAS officer. Zoheb Hussain appeared on behalf of the ED. On the other hand, Manish Sisodia's lawyer opposed this and said that the case of changing the phone was part of the CBI's custody, now remand cannot be given on the basis of the same.

The ED had said during the hearing that Sisodia was questioned a lot about changing the mobile phone, but he was changing it again and again. It has also been told by ED that a lot of information has been received from his mobile and email, but they are yet to be verified.

After completion of Sisodia's remand, he was produced in the court on Friday. However, the court has now extended his remand for 5 more days. Let me tell you, before arresting Manish Sisodia, ED had interrogated him for about 8 hours in Tihar as well. After this, the CBI interrogated him after taking custody and was presented in the court and sent to jail.
