Sunil Mittal of Airtel said – All plans will have to be expensive this year, only then the business will be able to run

Sunil Bharti Mittal, chairman of telecom company Airtel, says that this year the prices of all mobile phone calls and data plans of the company will increase. If this is not done, then it will be difficult for the company to do business. At the same time, the company has also stopped its lowest recharge of Rs 99.

If you also use Airtel 's service, then get ready to pay more this year. The company's chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal has made it clear that the company is going to increase the prices of all its mobile phone calls and data plan recharge. While the company has discontinued the Rs 99 plan, last month it has increased the price of its 28-day mobile service plan by 57 percent to Rs 155 in 8 circles.

In the Mobile World Congress, Sunil Bharti Mittal said that there will be an increase in the price of all recharge plans. The company has made a lot of investment to strengthen its balance sheet. The return on investment in the telecom sector is very slow, so the company has decided to increase the price of recharge plans. Anyway, the company has invested extensively across the country for 5G service.

Business will not be able to run

Sunil Bharti Mittal said that we the people need to change. We need to increase the prices of recharge plans a bit. This year, a change in tariff can be seen in India. When he was asked about the impact of this price hike on the common man, he said…

'People's salary has increased, rent has also increased, except one thing (recharge plan price). No one is complaining about it, but people are using 30 GB data without paying almost anything. Now we do not have to create more examples like Vodafone Idea (Vi) in the country.

He said that India needs a good telecom company. Which can make the dream of Digital India come true. According to him, the government is conscious about it, while the common people and the regulator (TRAI) are also fully understanding the matter.

Target to earn an average of Rs 300 from each customer

Sunil Bharti Mittal said that in the short term, Airtel is aiming to earn an average of Rs 200 from each customer. But in the medium and long-term, the company aims to take the average revenue per customer (ARPU) to Rs 300. For this, the company will increase the price of recharge so that the business can run properly.

10 crore 2G customers will continue to get service

Sunil Bharti Mittal said that the number of 2G customers of the company has now come down to around 100 million or below. This is a very small number of 2G customers. But we cannot leave them in the lurch. If he wants, he can switch off the 2G network and save money. But there are many customers using 2G who want to upgrade to 4G-5G phones, but the cost of the smartphone is too high for them.

He said that the company will keep 2G service running until its customer base shifts to 4G or 5G.
