Manish Sisodia CBI Remand: Manish Sisodia sent to CBI remand for five days, Rouse Avenue Court gave its verdict

Manish Sisodia Remand: The Rouse Avenue Court has given a major decision on the CBI remand of Manish Sisodia, arrested in the Delhi Liquor Policy Case. He was arrested by the CBI on Sunday.

Manish Sisodia Remand News: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia was produced by the CBI in the Rouse Avenue Court on Monday afternoon. After the hearing, the court gave its decision on his remand. Rouse Avenue Court has given five days remand of Manish Sisodia to CBI. That is, Manish Sisodia will remain in CBI remand till March 4. After presenting Sisodia to the court, the CBI had asked for a five-day remand, which the court accepted.

What happened in court?

The CBI told the court that the commission was increased from Rs 5 crore to Rs 12 crore at the behest of Sisodia. Remand is needed for enquiry. Manish Sisodia's remand sought by CBI was opposed by his lawyer Dayan Krishna. He also said that there is no reason to seek remand and the allegations of non-cooperation in the investigation are baseless. Sisodia's lawyer said that the commission was increased after the approval of the Lieutenant Governor. Everything happened in the knowledge of LG. Transparency was maintained in the liquor policy.

Three lawyers were present in the court on behalf of Sisodia

Manish Sisodia's lawyer Dayan Krishna said that Sisodia appeared before the CBI on every notice. Three lawyers were present on behalf of Sisodia in the court. After completion of the hearing, the Rouse Avenue Court reserved the decision for some time on Manish Sisodia's demand for CBI's remand. Earlier, the CBI had arrested the Deputy CM on Sunday after eight hours of questioning regarding the Delhi Excise Policy matter. His medical was done on Monday afternoon, after which he was produced in the court.

 

CBI officers were against Manish's arrest: Kejriwal

At the same time, leaders of all opposition parties, including the convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, have also opposed the arrest of Manish Sisodia. On Monday, CM Kejriwal tweeted, "I am told that most CBI officers were against Manish's arrest. Everyone has a lot of respect for him and there is no evidence against him, but the political pressure to arrest him was so great that They had to arrest him."

BJP-Congress targeted Sisodia

On the other hand, BJP taunted AAP and Manish Sisodia and said that the party is presenting them as poor. Apart from this, Delhi Congress President Anil Chaudhary welcomed the decision to arrest Manish Sisodia. 

Three more people have been arrested in the Delhi Excise case

Significantly, in the case of the withdrawn excise policy of the Delhi government, the CBI made the fourth arrest on Sunday. Earlier Vijay Nair, Sameer Mahendru and Abhishek Boinapalli have been arrested. In this whole matter, on the one hand, the Aam Aadmi Party claims that the central government agencies are being misused. On the other hand, the BJP alleges that the friends of the leaders were benefited through the excise policy of the AAP government.
