Rice fritters taste delicious and can be used for breakfast or as a snack during the day. Rice pakoras can also be served with evening tea.

Ingredients for making rice pakoras

Cooked rice – 1 cup

Gram flour – 2 cups

Ginger grated – 1/2 tsp

Onion finely chopped – 1/2 cup

Green chili chopped – 2

Green coriander finely chopped – 1/2 cup

Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp

turmeric - 1/2 tsp

asafoetida - 1 pinch

coriander powder - 1/2 tsp

ajwain - 1/2 tsp

cumin powder - 1/2 tsp oil - salt

for frying - as per taste

Method of making rice fritters

To make rice fritters, first put the cooked rice in a big mixing bowl. Now mash them well. After this add finely chopped onion, gram flour, green coriander leaves to the rice and mix them all well. Now add grated ginger and red chili powder to this mixture. Then add asafoetida, coriander powder, cumin powder, celery and a little salt and mix it well with the mixture. Now cover the prepared mixture for 10 minutes and keep it aside.

Now take the mixture and prepare a batter by adding a little water to it. Keep in mind that the solution should neither be too thick nor too thin. Now put oil in a pan and keep it on medium flame to heat. After the oil is hot, take out the pakoras from the rice batter and put them in the hot oil and fry them. After frying for some time, turn the pakoras and bake them well in the other way as well.

Fry the pakoras until they turn golden brown from both the sides and become crispy. After this, take out the pakoras in a plate. Similarly prepare rice pakoras from all the batter. Now rice pakodas are ready for snacks. Serve them with tomato sauce. Rice pakoras can also be served with evening tea.
