On the allegations of obscenity in the post, Zeenat Aman said, “There was a lot of hue and cry about my character Roopa in Satyam Shivam Sundaram. I have always been surprised by the allegations of obscenity because I have not done anything like that and I have never seen obscenity in the human body. I am a director's actor and these looks were a part of my job. Rupa's sensuality was not the crux of the story, but only a part of it."
Zeenat Aman further wrote, “The set is not a place that is sensual. Every move is choreographed, rehearsed and then performed in front of dozens of crew members." Zeenat told that Raj Kapoor was worried before taking her in the film, because earlier her image was western type. He was confused whether the audience would accept him in this role or not.
