Ghaznavi Force and Khalistan Tiger Force declared terrorist organizations, Harvinder Singh Sandhu also included in terrorist list

According to the notification issued by the Central Government, the Jammu and Kashmir Ghaznavi Force was involved in many things, from infiltration attempts, smuggling of drugs and weapons to threatening security forces.

The Union Home Ministry has declared Jammu Kashmir Ghaznavi Force (JKGF) and Khalistan Tiger Force as terrorist organizations under UAPA , regarding this, the Ministry of Home Affairs has also issued a notification. Accordingly, Harvinder Singh Sandhu alias Rinda, living in Pakistan and affiliated with Babbar Khalsa International, has also been declared a terrorist.

In the notification of the Ministry of Home Affairs, it has been said that in the year 2020, the Jammu and Kashmir Ghaznavi Force came to the fore as a terrorist organization. And it draws its cadres from banned terrorist organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Tehreek-e-Mujahideen, Harkat-e-Jihad-e-Astlami.

It has also been said in the notification that the Jammu Kashmir Ghaznavi Force is involved in infiltration attempts, smuggling of drugs and weapons and carrying out terrorist attacks in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It has also been said in the notification that Jammu Kashmir Ghaznavi Force has been continuously threatening Indian security forces and through social media incites terrorist organizations to join against India.

The Home Ministry said that JKGF has been inducting terrorists from Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen, Harkat-ul-Jihad-e-Islami and other terrorist organizations into this organization. The ministry said that this terrorist group has carried out various acts of terrorism in the country. JKGF is the 43rd group to be proscribed under the anti-terror law.

According to the notification, JKGF has been declared a terrorist organization in exercise of the powers conferred under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). Harvinder Singh Sandhu alias Rinda, living in Pakistan and associated with Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), has also been declared a terrorist. Sandhu is considered one of the conspirators of the attack on the intelligence headquarters of the Punjab Police in 2021. Interpol had also issued a Red Corner notice against him.

54th person to be declared terrorist

Harvinder Singh Sandhu has direct links with Pakistan-based terrorist groups and has been involved in large-scale cross-border smuggling of narcotics, arms and ammunition, the home ministry said. Has been involved in various criminal incidents like murder, attempt to murder, dacoity and extortion in Haryana, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

Singh is now the 54th person to be declared a terrorist by the government. Significantly, last month, the central government had banned two proxy organizations of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed and declared four persons as terrorists. The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy organization of the Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, was declared a banned group on January 5.

The Home Ministry said that the TRF was engaging youth through online medium for furthering terrorist activities, recruiting terrorists, infiltrating terrorists and smuggling arms and narcotics from Pakistan into Jammu and Kashmir.
