Budget Session: 'BJP's dictatorial face is visible', Congress attacks BJP for removing excerpts from MPs' speeches

Congress On Budget Session 2023: Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi targeted the central government after some comments of Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge were removed from the Parliament. Abhishek Manu Singhvi (Abhishek Manu Singhvi) said on Sunday (February 12) that the removal of parts of the speeches of his leaders and the suspension of the Congress Rajya Sabha MP is openly biased by the central government.

The Congress leader said that the autocratic and dictatorial face of the BJP and the ruling dispensation was fully visible in both the Houses of the Parliament by deleting part of the speech of our leaders in an undemocratic and unparliamentary manner. After Rahul Gandhi's comments were expunged in Lok Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge's comments were expunged from Rajya Sabha proceedings. Rajni Patil was suspended from Rajya Sabha. It is also ironic that the questions asked are also included in the extracts.

BJP accused of intimidation

Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that the country is facing the brunt of the murder of democracy by the BJP. They are killing the MP and cutting out portions of the speeches of the opposition. BJP is also doing the work of intimidation and threats in the Parliament. They do not want the House to run peacefully, so they are creating a situation of confrontation in the Parliament. Rajni Patil was suspended without sending a 'show cause notice'. The rule under which he was suspended does not apply at all.

What else did Abhishek Manu Singhvi say?

He said that the Hon'ble Speaker and the Hon'ble Chairman in the Parliament are the guardians of freedom of expression inside the Houses. If both the Houses cease to be a place for freedom of expression, then we cannot call ourselves a democracy.

Abhishek Manu Singhvi (Abhishek Manu Singhvi) claimed that BJP thinks that they will run the country without opposition, new rules are being introduced to suppress the voice of Congress. BJP wants to run the Parliament through confrontation, chaos and struggle, they do not want the House to run with consensus, cooperation and agreement.
