One private message and whole life ruined… Sextortion cases are increasing with students, fraudsters lay such traps

Cases of sextortion with students are increasing in Dakshina Kannada. In such a situation, experts are taking every possible step to make the students aware.

Cybercrime in the country has always been a matter of great concern for the people. But even in this, the cases of sectorization are increasing day by day and are becoming a headache for the police. This is because most of the people who fall in this trap do not come forward to lodge a complaint. Either they commit suicide due to the fear of the society, or they silently keep listening to the criminals. In such a situation, it becomes more difficult for the police to reach these criminals and the courage of those who trap innocent people in their trap becomes more high.

Meanwhile, cyber security experts believe that cases of sextortion making students their victims are increasing. According to the Times of India report, an increase in these cases is being seen in Dakshina Kannada. Cyber security expert Anant Prabhu said that out of 10 cases being registered every day, most of the cases are of sextortion. In these also, in 3 cases, students are targeted.

19 year old student committed suicide

One such case came to light from Dakshina Kannada on January 24, in which a 19-year-old student who became a victim of sextortion committed suicide. The fraudsters were threatening her that if she did not give them the money, they would make her private video viral.

Fraudsters spread such traps

Anant Prabhu has also talked in detail about how this whole game of sectorization starts. He told that most of the time fraudsters start laying the trap by sending a private message. This message is sent from an unknown girl. After this, the talk is gradually increased and an online relationship is started by entangling the victim.

He told that we get calls from many such victims who have lost Rs 5,000 to Rs 5 lakh. After this, as soon as the victims block the fraudsters, they adopt the kill approach and send their private videos to all the people present in their contact list.

He told that because of all these things, students often go into depression and cannot concentrate on their studies. In this way, we are reaching out to the students of class 6-10 and making them aware.
