BA is still number-1! Girls ahead in science, not arts-commerce.. This report will surprise you

More than one course has come. But even today the most chosen course after 12th is BA. This thing has come to the fore in the AISHE report of the Ministry of Education.

BA i.e. Bachelor of Arts is still the first choice for college going students after passing 12th board exam. This thing has come to the fore in the latest report of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Education Ministry has released All India Survey for Higher Education i.e. AISHE Report 2020-21 . It has been told that in the academic session 2020-21, the highest number of 1.04 crore students have enrolled in BA courses in higher educational institutions of the country. While there were 49.12 lakhs who took admission in BSc.

According to the survey, a total of 1.04 crore students have enrolled in BA courses, of which 52.7 per cent are boys and 47.3 per cent are girls. The All India Survey of Higher Education (AISHE), released on Sunday by the Ministry of Education of India, is being released from the year 2011.

Girls ahead in science

On the other hand, 49.12 lakh students enrolled in BSAC (Bachelor of Science), of which 52.2 percent are girls. Similarly, 43.22 lakh students have taken admission in B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce), of which 48.5 per cent are girls. It is clear from these figures that the reality is different from the beliefs. More girls are taking interest in science than arts and commerce. Because in all the three streams BA, BSc, BCom, BSC is the only one in which more girls have enrolled than boys.

Talking about Engineering BTech (BTech), 23.20 lakh students got enrolled across the country. Of these, 28.7 percent are girls. Similarly, 13.42 lakh students took admission in Bachelor of Engineering (BE), of which 28.5 per cent are girls.

In this way, subject-wise maximum admissions (33.5 per cent) took place in Arts. After that come Science (15.5 percent), Commerce (13.9 percent) and Engineering and Technology (11.9 percent).

Status of PG and PhD

According to the report, the total number of students taking admission in graduate courses is about 79.06 percent. In PG courses, it is 11.5 per cent.

In post graduation, maximum number of students enrolled in social science (20.56 percent). The number is 9.41 lakh. Of this, 56.5 percent are girls. After this, remained in science (14.83 percent). In Science, 6,79,178 students were enrolled, of which 61.3 percent are girls. Talking about management subjects, a total of 6,86,001 students took admission, out of which 43.1 percent are girls.

In PhD, maximum number of students took admission in Engineering and Technology. Then comes science.
