According to the proposal of the government-

There will be a special increase in the salary of women government employees who give birth to a second child.

On the other hand, if a government female employee gives birth to a third child, then her salary will be increased twice.

If a woman gives birth to a child, she will be given maternity leave of 365 days.

Father will get paternity leave i.e. Paternity Leave for 30 days.

News agency PTI quoted CM Tamang as saying, “We need to arrest the declining fertility rate by encouraging local people to have more children, as the state's fertility rate has touched the highest of one child per woman in recent years. registered a low growth rate.

Will get 3 lakh rupees for IVF

CM Tamang said that "ordinary people" living in Sikkim and having more than one child would also be eligible for financial assistance, for which the modalities would be worked out by the health and women and child care departments. Tamang said his government is encouraging the creation of IVF facilities in Sikkim's hospitals to encourage women unable to conceive due to various reasons to try medical intervention.

The Chief Minister said that all mothers who give birth to children through this process will be given a grant of three lakh rupees. He said that so far 38 women have conceived with the IVF facility and some of them have also become mothers. At present, the estimated population of Sikkim is less than seven lakhs, in which about 80 percent people belong to ethnic communities.
