Loneliness can lead to other mental illnesses

He said that COVID-19 is the biggest example of how loneliness can lead to various diseases.

Dr Rastogi said, “In the early days of Kovid-19, we saw that many mental health problems were also coming to the fore. This was the biggest scenario, where isolation and sudden loneliness led to various health problems in many people.”

Cardiovascular problems may also occur

It has been proven that social isolation and loneliness lead to cardiovascular problems and poor mental health. Nearly a quarter of the US population who is under the age of 65 are socially isolated, while the prevalence rate of loneliness is even higher, and more than 40 years of research have provided strong evidence that Social isolation is associated with an increased risk of premature death as well as other adverse health outcomes.

Social isolation is defined as the state of having little or no social contact. Loneliness is considered isolation which is painful for the person.
