The matter of the Twitter deal with Elon Musk has now reached the court. This matter has reached the court regarding the reason behind the non-dealing. Elon Musk has made many serious allegations on Twitter in court, to which Twitter has given the answer. This case has been filed in Delaware Chancery Court. A new twist has come in the midst of this whole case when, there has been an entry of India.

A deal was going to be done between Twitter and Elon Musk for $ 44 billion but due to many reasons it could not be completed. Musk canceled this deal on his behalf. Since then, the tussle between Elon Musk and Twitter continues. Now this matter has moved beyond the tussle and has reached the court. Earlier in the court, Musk had accused Twitter that there were many reasons behind the cancellation of the deal. Among these reasons, Twitter's tussle with the Indian government has also been mentioned.

Musk's allegations

Elon Musk has made many allegations on Twitter behind the cancellation of the deal. In these allegations, Musk has said that Twitter has deceived him. Musk, while presenting his side in the court, said that India has failed to give a clear answer to the ongoing Twitter case with the government and its investigation.

Musk alleges that Twitter has put its third-largest market at risk. Apart from this, Musk has said that Twitter has violated the orders. On behalf of Musk, it was told in the court that the Government of India had made rules and regulations in the year 2021. Under these new IT rules, the government can ask for details related to the investigation, identification etc. of social media posts. If the companies do not give information about these details etc. of the government, then the government can file a case against the companies.

Under the new rules of the government, all social media platforms which have a base of more than 50 lakh users will have to face these rules of the government.

How did India enter?

India is the third largest market for Twitter in the world in terms of users. If Twitter does not follow the rules made by the government, then its services can be interrupted in India. On 6 July 2022, Twitter reached the Supreme Court against the Government of India regarding this matter.
