This temple tells the time of the end of the earth, know why it is called 'living Shivling'?

The world's only living Shivling is in the Matangeshwar Temple in Khajuraho. This Shivling, made of a gem given by Shiva, is growing continuously above and inside the ground.

Even today there are many mysteries, the reason behind which science has not been able to find yet. Whether it is a snow Shivling made every year in the cave of Amarnath or it is a Shivling growing day by day in a temple in MP. Yes, the Shivling of Matangeshwar Temple located in Khajuraho of MP is such a Shivling which is getting bigger continuously.

It is called living Shivling

This Shivling is considered to be the only 'living Shivling' as it is continuously getting bigger. Its height is more than 9 feet. This Shivling becomes about 1 inch big every year. It is also a special thing that as much as this Shivling is visible above the earth, it is equally absorbed inside the earth. Local belief is that the day the Shivling inside the earth reaches the Hades, the earth will end on that day.

this is the legend

The reason behind the growth of Shivling with the passage of time is told in a legend. According to this, Shiva had given a miraculous gem to Yudhishthira, the eldest brother of the Pandavas, which Yudhishthira gave to the sage Matanga. Later this gem was found by King Harshvarman and he buried it in the ground. It is said that this living Shivling has been made from that gem itself. It is called Matangeshwar Shivling after the name of Matang Rishi.
