India vs England 2nd Test Day-1:  The dominance of the Indian team was seen in the match on the first day of Lord's Test. KL Rahul scored a century to put India in a strong position. The second opener Rohit Sharma also played an innings of 83 runs in the match. However, he missed his century. Apart from Rohit Sharma, James Anderson took the wicket of Cheteshwar Pujara. Olly Robinson got the third wicket in the form of Virat Kohli. 

England captain Joe Root won the toss and elected to bowl first during the rain-hit first day's play. KL Rahul along with Rohit Sharma scored 126 runs for the first wicket. During this, Rohit looked very aggressive. After the dismissal of Rohit, Rahul increased the pace of runs. He along with captain Virat Kohli made a partnership of 117 runs for the third wicket.

However, Rohit missed a century and was dismissed for 83 runs in 145 balls with the help of 11 fours and a six. Cheteshwar Pujara, who came out as a new batsman, was dismissed after scoring nine runs off 23 balls with the help of a four.

After this, the third session was completely in India's name and captain Virat Kohli and Rahul led Team India towards a big score. Both the batsmen became big partners for the third wicket. Kohli was dismissed for 42 runs off 103 balls with the help of three fours.

Earlier, the first match of the series was played in Nottingham. This match was completely seen in the hold of India. However, the match ended in a draw after the last day was completely washed out by rain.
