Fortunately, after 26 days of hard work, a team of five doctors operated on both his eyes in turn and his eyesight returned, thus giving the boy a new life. Sandeep's father, Banwari Adivasi, who lives in Khod of Shivpuri, told that his son Sandeep suddenly stopped seeing and started falling unconscious. After this, he reached Dr. Deepak Gautam in a private hospital in Shivpuri. When Dr. Gautam tested his blood sugar, it turned out to be 1206 mg/dl. 

Sandeep was suffering from diabetic retinopathy
, according to the news published in Dainik Bhaskar, he was given 6-6 units of insulin daily to control the sugar of Sandeep. Due to this his sugar level was controlled. After this, when his eyes were checked by ophthalmologist Dr. Girish Chaturvedi of the district hospital, he told him to be suffering from diabetic retinopathy and advised immediate eye operation. 

Because of this, the eyesight was lost. When
Sandeep was tested, his head was found to be full of pus. Dr Anant Rakhonde, the surgeon of the medical college, removed 720 ml of pus from the head. Dr Rakhonde told that due to pus, he had reached a state of unconsciousness and due to this, his eyes were seriously affected and the light went out. Sandeep was found suffering from a disease called diabetic retinopathy, which is very dangerous. He said that in this disease it is not possible to come back after the light goes out. 

What is diabetic retinopathy?
It is a disease that affects the retina (the veil of the eye) of a person suffering from blood sugar. It is caused by damage to the very thin veins that carry blood to the retina. If not treated on time, it can also lead to complete blindness. About 40 percent of diabetic patients are suffering from this disease. It is the biggest cause of blindness in the world. 

How to know if diabetic retinopathy is about to occur?
The initial symptoms of diabetic retinopathy include reddening of the eyes. Although initially diabetic retinopathy is not easily understood from the outside. Diabetic retinopathy can be diagnosed only through investigation.
