The Vrat of Sawan Somvar is incomplete without Mangala Gauri fasting on Tuesday, know why

Along with Shiva-worship in Sawan, worship of Shakti is also necessary, that is why Mangala Gauri fast is observed on Tuesday after every Monday in the month of Sawan. Girls, married women keep this fast.

The month of Sawan is very special for the devotion of Lord Shiva, so in this month the fast of Monday dedicated to Mahadev is done with devotion. However, few people know that in order to get the full blessings of Lord Shiva, it is necessary to worship his wife Goddess Parvati along with him. This is the reason why Mangala Gauri Vrat-Puja is performed on the next day of Sawan Monday. It has been told in the Puranas that worshiping Goddess Parvati on every Tuesday of the month of Sawan ends all problems and brings happiness and prosperity in life.

2 days a week dedicated to Shiva-Parvati

In order to get the blessings of Lord Shiva as well as Goddess Parvati, the first 2 days of every week of the month of Sawan - Monday and Tuesday are dedicated to the worship of Shiva-Parvati. July 27 is the first Tuesday of the month of Sawan. Maa Gauri form of Goddess Parvati is worshiped on this day. Girls, unmarried girls and married women can do fast-worship of Mangala Gauri. This fast is done for the desired life partner, happy married life and unbroken good fortune.

This is the method of fasting worship

On Tuesday of the month of Sawan, take a bath early in the morning and wear new clothes. Spread white and red cloth in half and half on the post. Also leave some space free. Prepare Navagraha by making 9 small piles of rice on a white cloth. After this, make sixteen small piles of wheat on top of the red cloth. Spread some rice on the post without clothes and place a betel leaf on it. Make a swastika on the paan and make Ganpati Bappa sit. After this, worship Ganpati ji and Navagraha with roli-rice, flowers, incense etc. Worship the heaps of wheat too.

After this, make a statue of Gauri Mata from clay in a plate and place it on the post. Take a vow of fast by taking water, akshat and flowers in your hand and saying your wish in your mind, pray to the mother to fulfill it. Then bathe Gauri with Panchamrit and wear clothes. Offer him sixteen laddus, paan, fruits, flowers, cloves, cardamom and 16 items of makeup. Light 16 lamps in front of the Mother Goddess or you can also light a lamp with 16 lights. Then read the fast story, do aarti. Remember that after the worship, donate all the goods to the Brahmin. Fruits can be eaten during fasting, but salt is not to be eaten. After this break your fast in the evening.
