There is news that more than 50 passengers are said to be injured in this accident. It is being told that Sir Syed Express was going from Lahore to Karachi and meanwhile it collided face to face with Millat Express near Dharki. According to Pakistani media, as soon as the information about the accident was received, senior railway officials reached the spot and relief work is going on.

According to Dawn newspaper, due to this head-on collision, the bogies of Millat Express derailed. After this horrific train accident, emergency has been declared in the hospitals of Ghotki, Obaro and Mirpur. Ghotki's deputy commissioner Usman Abdullah said that at least 30 people have been killed and more than 50 have been injured in the accident. Due to the overturning of bogies of both the trains, there is a lot of difficulty in evacuating people.

Pakistani officials have feared that the death toll could rise significantly. The Deputy Commissioner said that 13 to 14 bogies were overturned in the accident and out of which 6 to 8 were completely destroyed. He said that many people are still trapped in the bogies and it is facing a lot of challenge to rescue them. The Deputy Commissioner said that the relief train has been dispatched.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the task of evacuating people from overturned bogies is very challenging. Big machines will have to be brought to the spot to rescue the people trapped in the bogies. He said that all the doctors have been called to work. A medical camp is being set up to provide relief to the passengers.
