Former Indian hockey player Usman Khan passes away due to cancer


Former Indian hockey team player Usman Khan passed away at the age of 76 due to cancer. 
Khan breathed his last in Madanapale, Andhra Pradesh after battling cancer for a long time.

Hockey India informed about the death of Usman on Friday. Osman is survived by three sons and one daughter.

Usman used to play hockey at Madrasi Azam Ground after which he shifted to Kolkata where he joined customs.

In Kolkata, Usman played for the Calcutta Customs and represented Bengal in national championships for many years.

Hockey India President Gyanandro Ningombam said, “Usman will be remembered for his outstanding abilities as a left winger. On behalf of Hockey India, we extend our deepest condolences to his family."
