German luxury vehicle company BMW on Tuesday introduced the new BMW S 1000R motorcycle model in the Indian market. Its initial ex-showroom price is Rs 17.9 lakh.
BMW Group said in a statement that the second generation BMW S 1000R will be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). The booking of this model has started from Tuesday itself at BMW Motorrad India dealerships.
The motorcycle is powered by a new water-cooled 4-cylinder in-line engine. This vehicle can catch the speed of 0 to 100 km in 3.2 seconds. Its maximum speed limit is 250 kmph.
The BMW S 1000 R has been offered in three variants, Standard priced at Rs 17.9 lakh, Pro-priced at Rs 19.75 lakh and Pro M Sport priced at Rs 22.5 lakh.
Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India said, "The all-new 2nd generation BMW S 1000 has been designed to be a power-packed roadster. It has ensured maximum safety." (input language)
