In the 26th match of IPL 2021 played in Ahmedabad, Punjab Kings have defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 34 runs.
With the victory in this match, the condition of KL Rahul & Co. has improved a bit in the points tally. At the same time, the intention of reaching the top of Royal Challengers has received a setback. This is the Punjab Kings' third win in 7 matches while RCB's second defeat in as many matches. In the match, the Punjab Kings batted first and kept a target of 180 runs for victory in front of RCB. But, Virat's challengers could only manage 145 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs.

RCB started off chasing the target of 180 runs did not have a good start. The peddles were out soon. However, from one end, Virat Kohli was seen to be aggressive. He, along with Rajat Patidar, continued to add runs for the second wicket. At one time everything was going well for RCB. His steps were moving towards victory. However, Punjab's left-arm fast bowler Harpreet Brar brought a twist to his story.

Harpreet overturns the match

The Punjab Kings' 25-year-old left-arm fast bowler Harpreet Brar's attitude was calm in his first 2 overs. But as soon as he brought his third and 11th over of RCB's innings, he showed his true colors. Brar took 2 wickets in 2 consecutive balls of that over, on which the names of Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell were written. After this, he took the wicket of that batsman in his next over, which the world calls Mr. 360 degree batsman. Harpreet uprooted AB de Villiers before settling at the crease. In this way, Brar took 3 important wickets for 19 runs in 4 overs of his quota to put Punjab in the match.

KL Rahul's bat runs, Punjab's uproar

Earlier, the Punjab Kings scored 179 runs in 20 overs, batting first. Captain KL Rahul's role was the most important in reaching this score, who scored an unbeaten 91 off 57 balls, which included 7 fours and 5 tremendous sixes. Apart from Rahul, Gayle scored 45 runs from Punjab. After this, Harpreet Brar had also hit the bat before hitting the ball and scored 25 runs while remaining unbeaten on 17 balls.
