Explained: What is the new variant of Corona N440K? Why is it 15 times more lethal than the current strain? Know here

The current strain of the corona virus is still wreaking havoc that another 'ally' of it has come between us and you.
Yes, there is talk of that new strain of Corona which has been found around Vizag (Visakhapatnam) and Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh. Right now, double mutant strain B.1617 of Corona has caused havoc in India. Meanwhile, a new strain of Corona is reported to be outbreak of N440K. Researchers in Hyderabad have detected this strain.

The news of the new strain created a furore in the medical world. The danger of double mutant strain has shaken the entire medical system. Doctors and researchers are unaware of its cut. Only the vaccine is being touted as the last resort. But the vaccine is limited and the population numerous. In such a situation, the double mutant strain is breaking down on people. There is no medicine, lack of oxygen is being observed. The hospital is unable to arrange beds. In this situation, fear of new strain found in Vizag is bound to arise.

Where did you get the new variant

Researchers initially told that the presence of new strains was seen in Andhra, but now it is reported to be spread in Telangana, Karnataka, parts of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh too. Scientists at the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad, have detected the new strain N440K. It was first found in Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh. Its presence in Vizag was also detected. It is being said that it is 10 times more contagious and 15 times more deadly than the current strain of Corona.

How dangerous is the new strain

PV Sudhakar of Andhra Medical College told The Hindu that the new strain is more deadly and dangerous than the existing strain. Sudhakar said, the incubation period of this new virus is of short days and it spreads disease rapidly. Earlier, when someone had a corona, it took about two weeks for the patient to experience symptoms of hypoxia or dyspnea. But with the new strain, the patient reaches a critical stage in 3-4 days. This is the reason that the huge shortage of oxygen and ICU beds is being seen in this time wave.

No need to fear

Scientists believe that despite everything, there is no need to be afraid of this new strain because this strain of the virus is fast disappearing. Although making people sick, it is also ending fast. This is not the case with double mutants. With the spread of serious illness, she does not seem to be likely to end it soon. In the disease spreading from the new strain, the same symptoms are seen which were in double mutants. Such as fever, muscle aches, dry cough and lack of test and smelling. Some patients include a sore throat, headache, itching, vomiting and discoloration of the fingers.

What is the situation in the country

Of the 3,57,229 new cases reported in a day of Kovid-19 infection in the country, 71.71 percent of cases are from 10 states including Maharashtra, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh. The rate of infection of people in India is 21.47 percent. The ministry said that Maharashtra has seen the most new cases. There have been 48,621 new cases in Maharashtra, followed by 44,438 in Karnataka and 29,052 in Uttar Pradesh.

The states where 71.71 percent of new infections have been reported include Kerala, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. Currently 34,47,133 infected people are being treated, which is 17 percent of the total cases of infection in the country. There has been an increase of 33,491 cases of total under-infection cases in the last 24 hours.
