IPL 2021: Royal Challengers Bangalore Beat Sunrisers Hyderabad By 6 Runs In Thrilling Match

Royal Challengers Bangalore recorded a thrilling six-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday thanks to a superb performance from the bowlers after Glenn Maxwell's aggressive half-century.
The match played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai was full of tussle. In the final overs, the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers performed brilliantly and snatched the victory from Hyderabad.

Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bat first. With the help of Maxwell's aggressive innings of 59, Bangalore scored 149 for 8 in the allotted 20 overs. In response, Hyderabad had a chance to win but the Bangalore bowlers did not let that happen. Hyderabad managed 143 for 9 in 20 overs and lost. Captain David Warner was the team's top scorer with 54 runs.

Warner's attacking half-century, Manish Pandey's strong batting to
reach the 150-run target, Hyderabad had a disappointing start and Riddhiman Saha was dismissed for just one run. However, Captain David Warner and Manish Pandey took over. The pair had an 83-run partnership. Pandey hit 38 off 39 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes. Warner completed his half-century and hit 54 off 37 balls, including seven fours and a six.

Hyderabad thump against Bangalore bowlers
With Warner and Manish Pandey playing, Hyderabad looked set to win easily. But after these two batsmen were out, the Bangalore bowlers gave a counter fight. Not a single Hyderabad batsman was able to withstand his superb bowling for long. Johnny Bairstow was dismissed for 12 while Vijay Shankar returned to the pavilion with just three runs. Hyderabad needed 16 runs in the final over but Hershal Patel defended it. For Bangalore, Shahbaz Ahmed was three wickets quick. While Hershal Patel and Mohammad Siraj took two wickets each. Kyle Jamieson had a breakthrough.

Captain Virat Kohli's firm batting
Bangalore captain Virat Kohli is currently opening the tournament. Kohli started the innings with Devdutt Padikkal. Kohli batted well but Padikkal could not play big innings. He was bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar for 11 off 13 balls with the help of 2 fours. While Shahbaz Ahmed was out for 14 off 10 balls. However, Kohli batted firmly. He scored 33 off 29 balls with the help of four fours.

Glenn Maxwell's aggressive half century
After Kohli's dismissal, Glenn Maxwell took over the responsibility of leading the team's score. Maxwell was batting aggressively with one end but no other player after Kohli was able to support him. Kohli was out when the team's score was 91 and then Bangalore's other three wickets fell until the team's score reached 109. Abby de Villiers scored one, Washington Beautiful 8 and Daniel Christian one. While Kyle James contributed 12 runs. Maxwell was out on the final ball of the innings. He hit 59 off 41 balls, including five fours and three sixes.
